The Plan

In a nutshell the Plan is to cycle back Home. The route that I am planing will be about 28 000 km, it will take me through over 30 Countries on two Continents.  I want to cycle this Trip in about 12 to 18 months. Depending on the route that I take, if I will be able to go through all the countries I want intend to.

There are a couple of factors that will make my decision a lot easier.

• Countries with Political unrest
  There are a couple of Countries that are not save to travel through like Nigeria, DRC, Central African Republic, Chad to name a few.  It will always be a big factor in the route that I would like to take and will take at the end. There will also be a couple of times where I will decide to change the route as I go, because things can change so quickly in Africa.
• Budget
  I am financing the trip myself and depending on the money that I can save, it will become a short 10-12 Month trip  down to Namibia, or it will be a scenic route that will take me all over Africa to places like the Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, etc.   I hope it will be the later because I feel a trip through Africa should mean I will travel the entire length of Africa down to Cape Town. Then I will go up the West Coast via Walvisbay, Swakopmund and Omaruru, where my parents stay and hope to arrive safely in my home town Winhoek.
• The argue for Adventure
  A cycling Trip of this magnitude is the search for Adventure and to see new places.  It might be that, after I have travelled 10000 km through Africa, that I have satisfied this argue and that I want to keep the Trip as short as possible. This would mean that I will not be traveling to the East side of Africa and rather take a more direct route back to Namibia-Windhoek. It might also be, that I will want to stay at a place for a bit longer to take in everything that it has to offer.
